Advance Training Scotland helps individual candidates and businesses develop the skills needed for construction work. From plant operation and site safety to Streetworks, utilities and work-based qualifications, our courses support people at different stages of their working lives.
We are part of the Advance Construction Group and serve the wider industry from our training centre in Livingston. You do not need to work for an Advance Construction Group company to train with us.
Construction Experience Behind Our Training
Established in August 2016 to meet Advance Construction's internal training requirements, the business has grown to serve employers and candidates across the construction industry. That connection to day-to-day site work continues to inform our approach to training.
Our instructors have come from the workforce and hold relevant teaching, assessing or training qualifications. They bring practical experience to the classroom and training area, helping candidates relate what they learn to their work.
Our Livingston Training Centre
Based at 10 Caputhall Road in Deans Industrial Estate, our centre has three classrooms, a reception area and permanent plant equipment. This includes a 360-degree excavator below 10 tonnes, a forward tipping dumper, a telehandler and a roller.
The centre does not routinely bring in other plant categories. Specialist machine training or assessment may need to take place at suitable client premises using equipment available there. Speak to us about the machine and qualification you need before arranging training.
The centre is on one level, with accessible facilities, a disabled toilet and disabled parking. The kitchen has tea and coffee facilities, a fridge and a microwave. Nearby shops, including Tesco, are around five minutes away and the centre is close to motorway links.
